We are pleased to welcome back Australian singer songwriter Shane Blackshaw to Stripped Recordings with a brand new collaboration “Tipi” alongside label regulars Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe. Shane’s last single for us saw him pairing up with another Lithuanian combo Kastis Torrau & Arnas D for the hit “Down Do Long” late last year. Shane has also recorded with the like of Nick Devon, Vanilla Ace, Jade Blue, Lee M Kelsall, releasing on Toolroom, Steyoyoke, Go Deeva, and Manual Music.
Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe return centre stage to Stripped Recordings as we revsit a track from their 2014 album “Seven Sins” which was the only one not to receive the remix treatment until now. We have four remixes to present to you and it’s a pretty strong package even if we say so ourselves. Dmitry Molosh, Simos Tagias, Futur-E, and Lateral Cut Groove deliver the goods admirably here we’re sure you’ll all agree.
Norman H & Minoru Hirata – “La Bufadora” gets two new reworkings, and of course, both of the highest order! Kastis Torrau & Arnas D are first up, and land us with a deep and hypnotic gem, its moody and tasty synths sounding out, while the underlying arp tinkers away, with subtle percussive fills meeting phat sub bass. Whats not to like?. Phonic Scoupe beef things right up, with its chunky beats and seriously large synths booming out and causing mayhem. Layers of melodics intersperse beautifully creating a bit of a moment!
2015 seems to be flying by as we reach the halfway point with the summer now upon us. Now for your listening pleasure comes the fifth strippedcast featuring two hours of some of my favourite tracks right now. Hope it’s to your liking.
As May arrives so does the fourth in the series of the strippedcast. A two hour selection of music that’s been rocking my boat as off late including a couple of upcoming tracks from the labels literally hot off the press. So rather than rattle on about it we’ll let the music do the talking.
Gotye’s anthemic “Somebody I Used To Know (feat Kimbra) has probably been over remixed but here Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe have taken on the challenge and scored big time with their interpretation which is now available as #33 in our FREE series.
We reach our 160th single release on Stripped Recordings with a special three way collaboration between Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe (Justas Dziim, Tadas King), Stripped label head Norman H and special guest appearance from Julie Mintz for this single entitled “Flying Away”. Phonic Scoupe are no strangers as the last 18 months or so since their first release for us have seen them grow so musically as well as becoming noticed by DJ’s the calibre of Hernan Cattaneo & Guy J. Julie Mintz has been making a name for herself away from dance music born in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA she performs what has been described as Gothic Americana ( A country infused take on folk that’s both sweetly ethereal and steeped in moody melancholy. She joined Moby’s live band a s a backing vocalist / keyboardist in 2011 recently performing a duet with him for the Paul Haggis movie “Third Person”.

Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe (Justas Dziim & Tadas King) teamed up just 15 months ago and have already found favour with some of the scenes biggest players Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo included.
The Lithuanian duo Phonic Scoupe return centre stage after the initial success of their debut album “Seven Sins: Deluxe Edition” and the single which preceded it “Lust” with a special Remix EP featuring a strong line up of artists some making their debuts for us here at Stripped and a couple of familiar names to those who follow the label(s). “Seven Sins: The Remixes EP” features reworks from DNYO, Cid Inc, Chris Fortier, Rich Curtis, Sonic Union and Ewan Rill. Phonic Scoupe are certainly ending their fledgling production career this year on an undoubted high.
